Day 10: 27 Companies Contacted, Zero Client Challenges Yet — What We Changed

PratyeAugust 2, 2026

Ten days ago we published a post with three live challenges, $160 in combined prize money, and zero submissions. Nothing dramatic has changed on that front since — and we'd rather say that plainly than go quiet until there's better news.

Where things actually stand today

  • 15 registered users on the platform (up from 13 ten days ago).
  • 3 live challenges, still all founder-funded — none posted by a paying company yet.
  • 0 submissions across all three, and 0 client-funded challenges to date.
  • 27 companies now in our outreach pipeline, up from 18 in our last outreach update. 13 have been directly contacted. Zero have converted to a posted challenge.

Zero conversions after more conversations isn't a better headline than zero conversions after fewer — it's still zero. We're including the number anyway because the alternative is silence, and silence after a public "here's where we honestly are" post reads worse than an unglamorous update.

What we changed

The last update said generic pitches don't land and specific ones do. So we made that specific: every outreach message now names the actual positioning problem a company is visibly working on — something pulled from their site, a funding announcement, an interview — and proposes one concrete challenge idea around it, not a generic "post a challenge on our platform" ask.

We also narrowed who we're pitching to. Almost every reply-worthy conversation so far has been about a marketing problem — a name, a positioning line, a launch campaign, a referral idea — not a technical or design-file deliverable. So as of this week we're deliberately writing for that reader: the person doing GTM, growth, or brand at a company, not an engineering lead. The three live challenges on the platform right now reflect that shift already — a growth pitch for a D2C snack brand, a naming/identity sprint for a grocery app, a referral idea for a college-town cafe. All description-based, no file or code upload required to enter.

The honest read

A bigger pipeline with the same zero conversions isn't proof the approach is working yet — it's proof we're still early enough that trust, not pitch quality, is probably the real bottleneck. The next real update worth writing is either the first company-funded challenge or the first submission on one of the three that are live now. Until then, this is where we are: building the pipeline, sharpening the pitch, and not pretending the number is anything other than what it is.
